I'm Just A Girl in the World

Woohoo – my friend Paige asked me to guest post for her blog Just a Woman and I was so honoured. Paige and I called each other “sisterfriend” cuz that is just what we are – two Newfoundland girls who have crazy love affairs with Montreal.   If you want to know what I posted about, you will just have to head over there to read it for yourself!

In all seriousness it was a privilege to be asked to provide a post. I am lucky because I have a small sprinkling of friends across North America who I know can be called upon in times of crisis, emotional turmoil or if a really bad haircut should occur. Luckily for me the Paiger is the Montreal branch.

Inspiring Ideas

Sometimes you meet someone and you instantly know that you will like this person – a lot. Then you might see them in their natural environment and you feel a whole different level of connection. It’s strange when someone you barely know channels some of the same ideas that float around in your head. At the same time, it’s exciting. I had this experience recently and alas this person and I are separated by many miles. Luckily we are bound by a family tie :-P


Here are some of her ideas which I wish were my own!

A big apothecary jar, sitting on the bathroom floor housing bath salts.

Percussion instruments - artfully mixing the real thing with children’s toys.

Metal wall art she used to sweetly showoff my niece Juju’s homemade spice sachets.

A clip display you can change out seasonally or with treasured photographs – depending on your mood!

Organization, organization, organization – I wish I was this organized!

The tea menu posted in the kitchen – so when you offer your guests a tisane you always know what you have on hand! (This one I will really use.)

This tissue box makes me want to sneeze!

The Phoenix has Landed!

I am in the land of rattlesnakes, cacti and plastic surgery!  That is right folks I am in Scottsdale, Arizona - adjacent to Phoenix.

I got here on Thursday and girlfriend S swooped in to pick me up and we headed back to her place for some holiday goodness.  We had some great appies and she prepared a yummy thanksgiving feast.  We were so focused on the food I only managed to snap a pic of the the snacks before the main event.

And here is the nice view of the desert brush from her balcony.  The sun goes does behind those mountains and the sky turns a beautiful red.

The Rebirth of My Apartment

I told you that my best guy friend (BGF) W was here. Well, after a little curiousity shop browsing, two trips to Ikea and my house has been revamped, renewed and redecorated! Here are a few photos of the redo. (These are not the greatest photos but you get the idea!)

You can see I have a bit of a hat fetish.
